Increasing the speed

Now that triathlon season is ramping up we have started increasing our speed sessions, on the track and in the water. We are doing a track session per week along with a hard pool session and also more open water swimming now that the Lake is warming up. We're going to continue the Thursday night time trials and hit some Westlake races when our schedule (work and training) allows, We plan on doing a few mountain bike races this summer as well before the cyclocross season starts and we're doing an XTERRA triathlon at Westbranch, so we have to get down there and ride and run that course a few times before the race. Other than that we have to start increasing our mileage for the upcoming 70.3 REV3 in September which will be here before we know it. We've been getting in the mileage on the bikes but have to increase the long runs off the bike.

Tony is giving a triathlon 101 presentation for first timers tomorrow evening at Lakefront Park as part of his new job at the Lake Metroparks. There will be two sessions that will include transition set up, equipment, tips and pointers and actually getting out to swim, bike and run.

Greater Cleveland Training day this Saturday and on Sunday we're going to get a long bike in....gonna be in he 90's too, perfect weather to practice extreme heat hydration and nutrition and work on the tan.

Later all.
