Race weekend

Two races in a row this weekend. The first one is the Down and Dirty trail race on Saturday in the Brecksville Reservation. This race takes place on the Buckeye Trail so it should be some fun running. I've put some miles on the new Altra Lone Peaks over the past few weeks with last night being the longest distance ran in them of 7 miles. I ran at the Girdled Road trails, and with over 600' of climbing in 7 miles I found that the shoes are very supportive but they let you feel the terrain that your running on, unlike the other trail shoes that I have. They are made so you run naturally and your gait is not altered at all. I really like these shoes and most likely will get the road shoes as well.

The second race on Sunday is the first Cuyahoga Valley Series Spring race a.k.a. The Covered Bridege Race which I'm racing in the Masters group. I haven't been doing any real "roadie" training this season as in jumps and sprints so we'll see how this one plays out. If nothing else it'll geive me some good fast work for tri season coming up.

Race re-caps coming later.

Great thoughts from a world class athlete. This article is rare. Not every day we can read from the experts. What's your strongest event? Running, swimming ore cycling?
